Big Trouble in Little Omaha Beach:

After several weeks of pure determination, here is my latest and newest project featuring Meryl, everyone's favorite high schooler! Being one of the only pure digital shorts I've made I'm very pleased with the results. Now that this is finished, I'd like to work on the project I started over the summer and complete it.

Current Short Film Progress:

For the last several months I have been working on a video project that I started late in the Spring. So far I am somewhere in the area of being a little more than half way finished. Here are a few videos detailing my progress as of now. As always, I post frequently to my Youtube page all of my video projects for your viewing pleasure, so please like and subscribe to my channel!

After Effects Puppet Animation:

I decided to make something that is pretty different from everything else I've done before. The Russian Sniper is a character created by another character that inhabits the same universe as Angel and Merill (he goes to the same high school as them). This weeks challenge was to create a film with After Effects using digital puppets. I drew everything using Photoshop and imported them directly into AE. While impressed with the quality and amount of work I did my instructor recommend I get psychiatric help.

Cutout Animation Challenge:

I've been planning on making this animation since December, unfortunately though, I'm not totally satisfied with the results. Due to being unfamiliar with the medium and having a tight deadline with school work I feel as that this project is not finished. While I love this film, there is more I wanted to get accomplished in terms of storytelling. I hate to not have a totally completed project but I most certainly will return to making this what I originally had envisioned. Regardless, I put a lot of effort into making this and very proud of my final result.

Coffee Animation:

Another short project I finished for class using coffee grounds to create images. It's just a fun little loop I made without any real conceptual goals. I didn't really enjoy animating with coffee (essentially sand as the medium) but I'm happy with the results and look forward to making new videos.

Experimentation With Photocopies:

I made another animation using a rather strange technique. What I did was made photocopies of ads and reprinted them until they became distorted, crumpled them while they were being scanned, and shifted the paper to make them look like they were melting and being stretched.

Erasure Drawing-Animation:

Here is my week long project I made for my Alternative Processes animation course at SAIC. I based the short movie off the history of the Chicago Typewriter and it's 20 year effect over American and global civilization. It was a tough week, considering that I had some personal computer issues, so hopefully the technical consistency isn't too out of whack. In the up coming months I'd like to add sound to have a truly complete work. I animated this with just vine charcoal and bristol board to create a smudged look.

Short Class Assignment

In the morning, I was pleasantly surprised by my sculpture teacher when she assigned our class to make a short animation. We had to use the resources that we came to class with and clay to make a short animated film in about an hours' time. This is what my partner and I made. This short was created by using my computer's built in webcam and the animation software, Dragonframe.
I had a lot of fun working on this and quite proud of the results!

Friday Night Progress Update:

Slowly but surely I'm getting more animated sequences done and starting to get some basic sound mixing in the final piece. So far this is coming along really well and I hope to do more voice recording in the near future.
